Milestone Society for the Special Persons in collaboration with Unesco organised an awareness walk around Lahore Press Club on Monday. The walk was held in connection with International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is observed across the globe on December 3 every year. This year the United Nation theme for the day was "Removing barriers to create an inclusive and accessible society for all".

The participants of the walk were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans for the rights of persons with disabilities. Some of the placards read "No bus without us", "We want disability act in Pakistan" and "Inclusive education is our right" etc.

Speaking on the occasion, President of Milestone Society for the Special Persons Shafiqur Rehman and other office bearers including Muhammad Akmal, Rizwan Ijaz, Ali Hamza, Asher Virk and Kamran Saleem urged the government to keep in view problems of disabled persons in the ongoing construction projects.
